You are the Fig Tree

After a rainy weekend here we are all again back to work.

A new day has begun with new hopes rising in our hearts and minds

Those who hope in the Lord will surely find their needs met they will surely see their dreams accomplished.

This time I wish to share with you all a very important word of God...

“And when He saw a fig tree in the way, He came to it and found nothing thereon, but leaves only…and said unto it, ‘LET NO FRUIT GROW ON THEE HENCEFORTH FOR EVER’….and the fig tree withered away then and there...

And when the disciples saw it, they marveled saying, ‘HOW SOON IS THE FIG TREE WITHERED AWAY!!’ “

Friends the above word occurs when Jesus along with His disciples arrives in a city….they all feel hungry…as they go their way, on the way they find a fig tree…seeing the fig tree….they find no fruits but leaves only and then the Lord says to the fig tree that henceforth you will never bear any fruit and the fig tree withers away.

This is not just a story, but it carries a very important meaning within it.

We all know that we are created by the loving Lord for a very special purpose; we were sent on earth not to live the way we want but to live the way the Lord wants us to live.

Each one of us has special talents and special qualities, each one of us are gifted with something special.

When we are small, we cannot distinguish things, but as we grow up we begin to see new facets opening up, we see our performance blooming in certain areas, and we discover the areas where we are gifted.

 Now, as long as we live on this earth…we have to use our gifted talents in doing the work that the Lord wants us to do, when the Lord shows us our talents…we should pray to Him , to guide us in which ways we can use our talents.

The FIG TREE represents YOU, so now YOU as a FIG TREE are expected to bear FRUITS i.e. the WORK that the Lord wants YOU to accomplish on earth.

 If the Lord wants you to preach the good news of salvation to all….then that becomes THE FRUIT that you should bear with the help of the Lord, If the Lord wants you to become a prayer warrior….then that becomes THE FRUIT that you should bear so that every man on earth will be benefited with it, everyone on earth should be able to eat that fruit that you bear and they should be satisfied.

Also we as a FIG TREE of the Lord should be able to produce fruits of LOVE, KINDNESS, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF CONTROL.

Friends, the above fruits can be borne if we have the SPIRIT OF THE LORD within us because only the Spirit of the Lord can teach us how to bear the above fruits. 

When we die and when we appear before the LORD, we will be questioned for all that we have done on earth, and when the Lord finds that you have been faithful in bearing the FRUIT that He wanted you to bear…then YOU will be welcomed into eternity.

But if He finds you only having leaves and NO FRUIT …then He will say as He said to the fig tree…“HENCEFORTH YOU WILL NOT BEAR ANY FRUIT” and you will be cast down to the eternal fire where you will wither away.

So friends, now it’s time to find out…what the Lord wants you to bear.

Find it out by praying at the feet of the Heavenly Father and when He guides you …start your work and bear much fruit… so that the Lord will bless you more and more. Then we will never wither away but we will bloom more and more.

Oh Lord, thank you for your precious love and mercy. Lord, since you created us for a special purpose...we want to know it, please help us to know thy will for us. Help us to accomplish the work that you want us to complete. Bless us to bear the fruits so that everyone, whom we come in contact with, will be able to see the fruits in us and will praise you for it. Father, lead us as per your precious will. Without You we cannot bear fruit…so please mold us as per Your will and help us to be a fruitful tree for you, Amen.
